Auto bailout…

Published by dickerhoff at 9:42 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I just don’t know how I feel about all of this. On the one hand, I hate for millions of people to lose their jobs, especially right before the holidays, but on the other hand, I am sick of billionaires getting rescued. In part I feel a bit for the auto industry with the way gas prices have sabotaged the industry the last couple of years, and I am a little angry at Americans that went gung ho for all the Japaneses autos. I, personally have only driven good old American cars. I know the argument about how they aren’ t really “American” cars, but I still want it to say Ford on the back of it. I never really bought into the argument that the Big Three autos weren’t as good as the Japanese cars either as I have never had any trouble with my cars. However, something must be done. We, as a country need to get our pampered butts out of the huge gas guzzlers that we don’t need, quit driving 3 blocks to get something, and car pool a bit more. This might be a start on our end. Once again I feel a bit for the Big Three, only a bit, because we Americans didn’t encouarage green cars as the above facts reveal. We loved drivng our ridiculous tanks. Plus, we sat idly by while the “drillionaires” in the oil industry bilked the poor public. Check out the profits of the oil companies over the last couple of years. I’m from Texas, and this benefitted many in my area, but it is still not right. Still CEO’s in general need to wake up and see how the real world operates. Maybe they should let the single mom with three kids who budgets and uses coupons every week at the grocery store take over mangement! Outta here, Serena
